Psychology: Effects of a Bad Mood

Psychology: Effects of a Bad Mood
Bad moods have the capability of knocking our alignment now and again all through our daily lives. They occur due to various reasons and events that trigger the bad spirits; however, what is going on in the inside of a person is also ...
a cause of bad moods. This paper aims at looking at the science behind the bad feelings that people occasionally experience in their lives. The paper seeks to establish the link between body senses such as taste, touch, sound and smell and bad moods.
There are a lot of reasons that lead to stress ranging from strained relationships, financial constraints and also health problems. Bad moods affect the body senses, for instance, when a person loses the sense of taste it is a sign of bad spirits which in turn transgresses to depression. It is so because taste is connected to the chemicals in the brain that is involved in controlling the moods of people (MailOnline, 2006). Bad spirits prompt isolation in that a person does not want to be touched as isolation feelings build up when one is annoyed.
When people are depressed and experiencing bad moods, their listening senses are heightened, and they become attentive listeners. Negative attitudes on the other hand like fear and sadness enable one to focus and look at particular details rather than the periphery information (Serani, 2013). Bad moods stimulate the olfactory senses in the noses that are directly linked to the emotional feelings of the body. These can make people find some smells to smell awful and irritating to their noses. Others find some fragrances to have a calming effect on them thus calming down their moods.
Therefore, various reasons make people experience bad moods. Bad moods lead to heightened body senses such as taste, sound, smell, touch and sight. It is also necessary to note that pleasant fragrances can calm down bad moods. Bad moods, in general, are not suitable for the body as they can lead to depression which will, in turn, lead to poor health.
